Where have the smiles gone in the Land of Smiles?
Thailand seems to have forgotten that the Tourists came here because of the friendly nature of his people. Lately I hear from many tourists of rude behavior of the same people, Tuk Tuk drivers are No. 1 in bad behavior, showing a finger and calling a tourist fuck… Farang, because he would not use the Tuk Tuk about an overcharged fee, is just one of the most common complaints I hear in Phuket.
Another bad experience is by massage Ladies, blocking the way of male tourists, dragging them towards their shops, something no Thai would do with other Thai people.

Take you seat and the first wine of the dinner is served, a 7 course dinner with white and red wines from the same winery, this can be of any of the top wine producing countries, our dinner was served with Chilean wine.
Once you started you eat trough 7 courses and 7 wines, a tasting experience par excellence.

The service is exceptional as well, no need to call, the girls, all beautiful and well mannered, tell you each wine name and year, explain the food and make the evening to an unforgettable experience.
If you’re a cigar smoker, this is the place, a good assortment of Cuban Cigars is available.

On 21. August 2009, Patong Beach had a big Tsunami exercise, the beach road was a chaos, TV and important people where here to watch!
If ever a Tsunami is happening again, there will be even a greater chaos than today, the escape routes are only a few from the beach, the main roads like Bangla would be full of people trying to get away, some would probably be trampled and with a fast approaching water wall, become a trap.
Why only roads are used as escape, lacks my understanding, there should be buildings with stairs big enough to escape the wave to higher ground.
This could be done every 50 meters at any building over 2 storey, which are enough on the beach road.
Many people saved themselves this way last time around.
So hopefully a few other ways to safe people will be considered then just running down the Bangla road with a panicking crowd.

It happens, you book a flight, a hotel room, and upon checking in, you find out there is no flight or room booked for you!!! But you paid already! Bad for you, and not much you can do at the moment when you realize it.
How to avoid getting to that point?
There are a few things you can do to stay safe!
When booking trough an online tour or accommodation supplier, always make sure they have a License to operate, here in Thailand as online tour operator you need a TAT License ( Tourist Authority of Thailand ) this license No. should be visible on any such website!
A valid address, where the business is registered, any operator without an address is impossible to find!!
Telephone and Fax numbers, to call and make sure there is someone on the other side! Only a mobile number or e-mail address is not good enough, many mobile phones are not even registered.
 

So next time you using a website to book your flights, tours or rooms, do a bit checking, better be safe then sorry!
